Catechesis of the Good Shepard

Sundays — 10:10 am

Christian Children’s Formation creates opportunities for our young people (ages 3–5th grade) to build community by worshiping in the Anglican tradition and seeking to live the gospel through faith and action. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is offered at three developmental levels:

Level One Atrium: ages 3–5 years

Children meet in the Atrium of the Good Shepherd. Here children are introduced to Jesus, the Good Shepherd, and deepen their relationship with God through liturgical works and scripture specially selected for the young child.

Level Two Atrium: 1st–3rd grades

Children meet in the Atrium of the True Vine, where children continue to explore their relationship with Christ and their role in helping fulfill God's Plan of Salvation. Scripture studies and liturgical works are tailored to the development of the early elementary-age child.

Level Three Atrium: 4th–5th grades

Children meet in the Atrium of the Kingdom, where children look to the past to make sense of their place in the Plan of God. Scripture and historical studies lead to greater understanding of the liturgy through its history and development, challenging and engaging the mind of the Level Three child.

Children’s Chapel

Sundays — 9 am service

Children’s Chapel is offered at the 9 am worship service each Sunday in the Downstairs Chapel. Children ages 4 years through 5th grade participate in a modified version of the liturgy led by parent volunteers. It is designed to provide a worship experience for our children that will better prepare them for our common worship.
